This June, a girlfriend of mine, her daughter and myself are setting off for an adventure of down south and east. We are going to soak up the culture, let our hair down and even take flight. Join us!
Schedule:
June 3rd, depart Twin Cities early morning and arrive in Memphis, TN by late evening June 3rd. We will be staying at ​The DoubleTree Hotel Memphis, East Memphis (hilton.com)
June 4th. See what Memphis has to offer. We are going to taste the local flavors and hopefully cram all these lovely places in:
June 5th, leaving Memphis, TN early morning and heading to Myrtle Beach, SC. We should get there by dusk on the 5th and will be staying at www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/myrgd-marriott-myrtle-beach-resort-and-spa-at-grande-dunes/overview/
I think Myrtle Beach is going to be my favorite place. I have been wanting to see the Carolinas for the longest time (especially since my paternal grandfather was from North Carolina) and we LOVE the ocean! I have always been gravitated towards water and we find the energy of water peaceful. This city will be a relaxing part of the trip.   We will be exploring some or all of the below on June 6th:
June 7th, we will be leaving Myrtle Beach in the morning and heading towards Cincinatti, OH. This was not a stop originally on this trip, but there are a couple places we are visiting in Ohio and Illinois and we are going to be breaking up the route to Chicago by stopping for the night at https://www.thesummithotel.com/ . We will be arriving in Cincinnati in the evening of June 7th.
June 8th, the most exciting day for me (Heather)!! Crossing off a bucket list item by going in a Hot Air Balloon and also visiting my favorite President childhood home. We would have also added co-piloting in a WWII 1943 Fairchild PT-19 (but this is only open on the weekends and we will be in Chicago by then-bummer! Next time).
We will be starting our day off near the hotel and then branching out from there. Below are the fun things we have planned:
We are staying in Cincinnati until morning of June 9th and then heading to Chicago. From the afternoon of June 9th through evening of 10th, we will be enjoying these lovely places/events:
Update.. we will arrive in Wisconsin Dells late in the evening on June 10th and will be spending the morning of June 11th at the amusement and water park attached to the hotel.
We wrap up our 4-city exploration on June 11th and head home. (Insert sad face)
I know we will have amazing memories to share and we look forward to the trip! 
The last part of the trip will be returning the rental car to the international airport and waiting to be picked up the afternoon of the 11th.
